Title: Dragon Age: Inquisition
CIS editor: EA
Release date: 18 November 2014
Platform: PC / Xbox 360 / PS3 / Xbox One /
After turning around the legendary series after meeting with Dragon Age: Inquisition, first of all you do not believe your eyes: there is nothing from the previous works. The concept was changed, the story is opposite to the previous, and externally novelty bears little resemblance to the same Dragon Age: Origins.
The events of Dragon Age: Inquisition occur several years after the ending of Dragon Age 2. In the skies over Thedas was opened a mysterious gap with flooded demons, and our protagonist, as usual, is in the heart of the action. Almost the person sentenced to death in a moment turns into the last hope of Thedas, and the only adequate solution is the revival of the Inquisition.
Despite the fundamental difference from the previous parts, Dragon Age: Inquisition is quite closely related in terms of subject. Depending on the key selection for the Grey Warden and Hawke, certain characters and the consequences will affect the story of the Inquisitor.
We were pleased with the fact that BioWare has tried and made a special application where you can refresh your memories and run through the major events in the universe of Dragon Age. In addition, it is possible to take the necessary decisions and generate new save points for the game Dragon Age: Inquisition.
First acquaintance with the expanses Thedas is fascinating: before the player is a huge and beautiful world, with a bunch of different things and events. At every step you can find various notes with a history (such papers often activate additional quests), and around will run wild animals and enemies.
The study locations takes an incredible amount of time: one’s had only to finish the prologue and exit to the outside world as ten hours flew like a flash, and the plot is on the same place. Wanderings in various forests, caves and cities brings a lot of fun, but here it is necessary to take into account the fact that after turning the wrong way, the player risks to be dead.
The battle system has undergone tremendous changes and now it is not connected with the previous games of the series. The first acquaintance with the management in battle points to one thing: the keyboard and mouse should be removed and you need to take a gamepad. It is hard to remember when the RPG game was so unplayable on the classic bundle.
To control warriors and bandit is a real suffering. Now it is impossible to select the target, click the mouse and wait until our character will slowly and surely beat the enemy. You need to constantly monitor the movements of opponents and move the characters to them, otherwise they will just waving their swords in the air. The mages and archers are easier controlled: they define the purpose and with the help of pressed button throw fireballs and arrows to the enemies.
Tactical pause doesn’t bring many benefits, although at high levels of complexity it is suitable to use the view, in order to assess the battlefield and weaknesses of competitors. Sometimes there are nuances when magicians are armed with sticks, shooting by ice, and the opponents have an increased immunity to this element. Only the ability of opposing elements in form of fire trap and a flurry of ice fragments.
In addition to the fights and a variety of quests, you can do your own shelter headquarters of the Inquisition. The inhabitants of this settlement listen to the main character and respect him. There are even entire scenes where the player has to decide the destinies of different characters for their misdeeds.
You can be distracted from the hustle and battles in dialogue with many party members: the allies very often have a dialogue, and if you will pick up the necessary cues the character may have romance. A lot of options for the development of relations intersect with other characters.
There are many dialogs but they are incommensurable with the previous part.
Despite the disadvantages, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a very good, incredibly ambitious and gaze game. It is necessary to get used to the battle system, the game immediately starts to bring a lot of fun, forcing to explore every corner in all available locations in search of cherished treasures. BioWare could rehabilitate itself after a terrible Dragon Age 2, it is a pity that so late.
