Supply set of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ has a good set of elements. It includes a charger, USB-cable, a headset with headphones of vacuum type and several pairs of interchangeable silicone pads, quick start guide, warranty card, and a couple of small stickers silicone-supports.

Also don’t forget about the rather large list of branded accessories, which not only improve the ergonomics of the tablet, but also significantly expand its technical capabilities. Design and elements layout

In the production of new item, Lenovo has taken into account the wishes of users and took care about the work on the bugs. Compared with the previous, more experimental model Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10, the updated tablet with the prefix «HD+» has improved display, more powerful hardware platform and a completely new module of the main camera.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Fortunately, the engineers came up with a great responsibility to the task and did not shoot from the hip, because the most important and very important feature that distinguishes the line Lenovo Yoga Tablet devices on a background of direct competitors, remained the same. This is the cylindrical thickness at the lower edge of the body, which has embedded a special rotating stand made of anodized aluminum. This design reminds a glossy magazine, where the part of pages is folded back after reading.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

This unique solution allows you to interact with the tablet in three different modes: "book", "keyboard" and "console". In a first way the device operates in portrait orientation and can be kept with one hand on the thickness of the body, which is quite convenient in the case of a web conference or Skype-call. In a second way the device lies on a horizontal surface and is slightly elevated by means of the rotary insert that provides a more comfortable to work with the text and office applications. Well, in the last mode, the tablet with the help of the same stand is placed vertically and is a small and compact monitor intended to comfortably watch photos and videos. Besides this cylindrical thickness has the battery. This manipulation allowed to reduce the thickness of the main body portion up to the value of 3 mm.

As for the 10” tablet, Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ has a very modest dimensions (261 x 180 x 3 - 9.1 mm) and weight (626 g). Sure, on the market there are thinner and lighter devices, but in the context of price and quality the test sample occupies a leading position. In addition, the gadget is represented by two stylish colors: silver and gold ("champagne gold," according to the classification of the manufacturer). In our opinion both will please the lovers of the elegant items and fashion accessories.

Right side of the device is almost completely covered with protective glass (name is not specified) with a good oleophobic coating. Around it is a thin border of glossy plastic, which flows smoothly into the sidewall of the housing. Frames around the display have small dimensions (for tablet) and are: 11 mm from the top, 32 mm from the bottom, and 21 mm on the sides. This allows more convenient to hold the device.

On the left side of the display is the front lens of the camera and light sensor. To the right is glued a small sticker with a brief technical information and icons that provide the image of the rotary stand.

Under the screen is a small logo of the manufacturer, which has a glossy texture and ability to change color depending on the light. Slightly below is a rotary stand with a pair of grilles of built-in stereo speakers.

The left side of the device has a round power button and connector of micro-USB. On the right side is 3.5mm audio jack for headset volume rocker and a small microphone hole.

The top and bottom side of the device has no any connectors and components.

The back side of the tablet is made of high quality matte plastic. Most of it has fine grooved texture that besides the pleasant tactile feelings hides the fingerprints.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

At the center is a logo of the manufacturer, which is formed with a small stamping. Slightly below is a cavity of folding stand that has a hidden array with microSD slot. In version of tablet with support of 3G here is an array for Micro-SIM cards. Also in the bottom right corner is the main camera lens.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

As for the build quality, traditional for devices, Lenovo it is at the highest level. Parts are fit very tightly. There is not even the slightest hint of gaps. Despite the small thickness of the main body portion, the tablet has excellent rigidity. With moderate pressure the apparatus geometry can not be changed, and the display do not have possible artifacts.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

The tablet is equipped with a 10.1-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Pixel density in this case is 224 ppi that for such a diagonal size can be considered as quite good indicator. Though the level of detail is not a record, but it is sufficient for everyday use, including the displaying of small fonts.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Used IPS-matrix has a high contrast ratio and wide viewing angles. Even at an acute angle the display does not fade, and remains bright and readable. Color reproduction has a high saturation of colors and rich spectrum of shades. However, there is a little discrepancy in the white balance, resulting in easy shift of the color temperature in the direction of cold tones, but the difference is noticeable only when compared directly with a professional monitor.

As for the backlight, it is also at a high level and has a decent range of adjustment. Moreover, the device is equipped with the controller Smart Display, which allows you to automatically adjust the brightness depending on the displayed content. For example, when reading a book or surfing the Internet the brightness decreases slightly, and when viewing photos and movies, on the contrary is increased. All this makes it comfortable to use the tablet as in bright daylight and in low light conditions.

The integrity and safety of the screen provides the protective glass, the name of which the manufacturer does not specify. It has a good oleophobic coating and pretty good job with the ubiquitous fingerprints.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Buit-in touch screen can recognize up to 10 simultaneous keystrokes and features with high sensitivity. Delays, false operation or any other problems were not observed. Finger sliding across the protective glass is quite pleasant and does not cause any discomfort. However, support for the work in gloves is not provided.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet Model 10 HD+ is equipped with two high quality stereo speakers, which are located on the front panel. Thanks to the support of technology Dolby Audio and facial landscape location they are able to provide loud and pretty deep sound on all available frequency range. The tonal balance is broad and balanced. It has high and medium frequencies as well as pronounced bass. The tablet can be used for gaming, watching movies and listening to music without any additional equipment.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Since the device is equipped with a 3.5-mm audio jack, then it can be used to connect external audio devices and accessories. In our test gaming headphones Kingston HyperX Cloud the sound was pretty loud and surround. It has the entire frequency range, including tangible bass.

Very positive effect on the sound of the headphones has the aforementioned technology Dolby Audio. After its activation sound becomes even more profound and complete.

Digital arsenal of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD + is represented by two very good cameras.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

The main one is 8-megapixel module with an aperture f/2.0, autofocus and video recording up to 1080p resolution at 30 f/s. Captured photo and video with a tablet can boast of a nice color reproduction, high contrast and good image detail. Even in low light conditions it is possible to have good shots. As for the sound, in some cases it is not loud and clean enough, but it is primarily dependent on the choice of subject and the volume level of external noise. In general, it does not spoil the overall pleasant impression.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Front camera is a 1.6-megapixel unit with an aperture f/2.8 and fixed focus. It can record video with resolution up to 720p at 30 fps. This camera is perfect for web conferencing and Skype-calls.

Proprietary software, which is responsible for the operation of the camera, has a good set of features, despite the concise interface. The user can adjust the white balance, exposure compensation, implement, set the value of ISO. In addition, to facilitate the process of shooting the settings menu has several preset modes: "Standard", "Panorama", "Twilight", "Macro" and "Picture + Sound."

Tablet Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is running under OS Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which has installed a proprietary shell Lenovo Launcher HD 1.2.447.

From design standpoint, this symbiosis looks very attractive and boasts of a logical and intuitive interface. However, in terms of functionality (if not to take into account some useful proprietary utilities) it is not much stands out from the stock options of the operating system. Perhaps the only significant difference is the absence of the usual menu of applications, since after installing the selected programs immediately get on the desktop.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

The proprietary shell Lenovo Launcher HD has a rather interesting "smart" sidebar. It is used for quick access to photo gallery and a library of books, displays shortcuts to the recently used applications, and allows you to configure the basic modes of operation of the tablet. Panel is opened with mild swipe from the edge of the screen and can be located on one or the other side of the display.

Moreover, the shell has very good multi window operation mode. It is activated by simply dragging an application to the panel in the top of the desktop and allows you to conveniently place on the screen up to four simultaneous open programs. This solution significantly reduces the time spent at work and significantly improves usability of the tablet.

Usual set of preset services of Google was added by a number of useful applications of its own production. Thus, special attention should be paid to utility Security HD. It allows you to monitor CPU operation, raise or reduce the clock speed depending on the tasks, download critical important updates, and if necessary will help protect user data by installing the password. In addition, do not forget about a very functional utility Power Manager which makes control over the tablet battery status and allows a fairly fine-tune the power save mode.

The settings menu of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ has a fairly wide range of items. Here you can get information about the status of the internal memory, find a list of running applications and the resources, customize the operation of the modules Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, set the display brightness and volume, and adjust a number of other useful features.

Against the background of the foregoing, an unpleasant surprise was the speed and smoothness of the operating system. Sometimes there were noticeable freezes of animations, jerks when browsing the desktop and open the side panel - all this has a negative impact on the overall comfort of the interaction with the device at this level. In fairness it should be noted that with the release of the latest updates of the overall performance of the OS has grown a bit, but the problem with partial delays of animation and small brakes of shell are still present.

Hardware and performance

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

At the heart of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is very popular nowadays hardware solution. The computational capabilities of the tablet are provided by a 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 400 (with support of 3G model MSM8226, and without it - APQ8028) with a maximum clock frequency of 1.6 GHz and the capacity of L2 cache at 1MB. It is based on the microarchitecture ARM Cortex-A7, in accordance with the 28-nm process. The graphic adapter is Qualcomm Adreno 305 with a working clock frequency of 450 MHz and supports OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenVG 1.1, OpenCL 1.1 and DirectX 9.0c.

The potential buyer can choose among two versions of the tablet: with 16 and 32 GB of internal memory. In both options the amount of RAM is 2 GB. Also, the device has support of microSD memory cards with capacity up to 64 GB.

As for the performance of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+, it is sufficient for almost all daily tasks. Tablet copes well with mobile surfing, checking email, audio and video playback, typing and editing text. Also it is perfect for the needs of the casual user.

As is the case with the previously tested phablet ALCATEL ONETOUCH Hero, the weak point of the device is the lack of power of the hardware platform. The resources of mobile processor Qualcomm Snapdragon and built-in adapter 400 Qualcomm Adreno 305 is enough to run even demanding applications, but they are unable to cope with the processing of the bulk flow of data that is produced during playback of 3D-graphics on a fairly large screen. This is well illustrated by the example of the modern games, specially optimized for Full HD-resolution. For example, Asphalt 8: Airborne and Dead Trigger 2 are significantly slow even at minimum graphics settings and are not able to give an acceptable FPS level to ensure a comfortable gameplay.

Also during testing we observed a slight heating of the body. However, due to the relatively large size of the tablet the heat is evenly distributed over the surface of the device and does not affect the tactile feelings and does not cause any discomfort.

On the market there are two versions of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+: with support of technology 3G and without it. In the first option, in addition to the standard communication opportunities that are presented by modules Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with function Wi-Fi Hotspot, the device is equipped with a slot for Micro-SIM cards, and can work with the most popular mobile networks: GSM, WCDMA / HSPA+.
Also, the device has the ability to broadcast multimedia content with technology DLNA.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

Testing of data transfer via Wi-Fi (wired connection 100 Mb/s, router with support of 802.11n) shows fairly good results. As to the reception and the sending speed reaches 38 Mb/s. Besides the searching and connection occurs very quickly, and a connection has good stability.

Like most modern tablets, Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is equipped with geopositioning module, which has the support of systems GPS and GLONASS. The quality of its work is very good: during the time of testing the gadget found about 30 satellites and successfully connects to 13 of them. The accuracy of positioning reached a total of 6 meters.

Offline operation

Another indisputable advantage of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is its high autonomy. The device is equipped with a non-removable lithium-polymer battery with capacity of 9000 mA*h. The unique case design allowed engineers to equip the tablet with three cylindrical batteries, which in comparison with the widespread flat batteries significantly longer hold a positive charge. Thanks to this solution under moderate load during everyday tasks a user can expect a few days of work in offline mode. Even by today's demanding standards it is a great indicator.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

More detailed testing of offline operation of device showed the following results. While watching HD-video at 50% brightness and active modules Wi-Fi and GPS tablet worked for almost 13.5 hours. In the case of gaming simulation using Epic Citadel (mode «Guided Tour»), a 100% display brightness and enabled modules Wi-Fi and GPS – the device worked during 5 hours and 45 minutes. Estimated battery life according to the benchmark PCMark (document editing, typing, surfing the Internet, watching videos, etc.) is a little more than 7 hours at maximum brightness. To restore full battery the user need to spend about 5.5 hours when using the bundled charger.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+

As you can see from testing, Lenovo has taken into account the previous experience of the development and introduced to the market a pretty interesting device. Updated tablet Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ has improved 10.1-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a pixel density at 224 ppi. It has good detail and nice color rendition, and has high contrast and wide viewing angles. Moreover, the device is equipped with decent multimedia stereo speakers, which have a rather loud and deep sounding at all the available frequency range. In addition, the novelty has a good camera module allows you to take very high quality photos and video.

The remarkable design of the device gave opportunity to the engineers to equip gadget with cylindrical batteries with a total capacity of 9000 mA*h, which led to get a stunning autonomy of several days of continuous operation.

But the main feature of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is unique built-in rotary stand made of anodized aluminum, which allows you to interact with the tablet in three different modes: "book", "keyboard" and "console". Using it the device is transformed into a handy electronic magazine, a portable mini-computer or compact multimedia player.

The only thing that unpleasantly surprised us as this decision to equip the tablet with middle performance hardware platform. It capabilities are not always enough to display demanding games on a screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. However, it is likely caused by the desire to reduce the final price of the gadget, making it more accessible and desired purchase.

The rest of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ is a good multimedia device. It would be a good choice for users who prefer not only a stylish appearance, but also appreciate the high level of functionality.

  • stylish design;
  • excellent build quality;
  • a good package;
  • good 10.1-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a pixel density at 224 ppi;
