Memory kit comes in a small cardboard box with black and blue design. On the front side it has a transparent window that allows you to evaluate the appearance of one of the module. In the lower left corner of the box you can find a small icon GeIL DBT (Die-hard Burn-in Technology). Its presence implies that the memory kit had pass test at elevated temperatures, designed to remove defective modules and to identify the most reliable samples.

CPU-Z utility confirmed the presence of one XMP-profile with a frequency of 3400 MHz with voltage 1.35V and timings of 16-18-18-36. The maximum frequency of memory, providing stable operation of the system was 3200 MHz. According to the manufacturer, memory set was tested on the motherboard GIGABYTE X99 SoC Champion, but the stability of a maximum frequency on other platforms cannot be guaranteed.

By increasing the frequency from 2133 to 2400 and 3200 MHz the increase in synthetic benchmark AIDA64 can reach 10% and 20% respectively. At the same time pay attention to the absolute rate of read , write and copy speed because the results of DDR3 modules at frequencies 2133 and 2400 MHz usually don’t exceed the level of 35 000 MB/s.

As for performance in gaming applications, the differences are within the statistical error.

It is quite difficult to choose a clear leader of the two sets of RAM. But thanks to lower timings on comparable frequencies, gaming memory GeIL DDR4 EVO POTENZA QUAD CHANNEL GPR416GB3000C16QC was a little bit faster than a competitor.
