DDR3-2400 HyperX Savage HX324C11SRK4/32: review and testing

As we previously expected, the appearance on the market of DDR4 RAM could significantly affect the popularity of the standard DDR3. The absence of available platforms, and the high price of modules -these are the two main factors that prevent the implementation of a new type of memory to the masses. Therefore, manufacturers have presented to the public decisions based on the format DDR4, but still relevant is standard DDR3. Particularly active is the company Kingston, continuing to actively promote their department HyperX. Not so long ago we talked about the new series of memory HyperX FURY and even had time to get acquainted with one of its representative. However, less than a few months, as the manufacturer marked another lineup announcement modules standard DDR3. Further technical information can be obtained using special utilities. We refused to use popular programs AIDA64 and CPU-Z, as they interpret the information from the SPD according the old algorithm, and are not always correct. To avoid possible inaccuracies, it was decided to use the utility Thaiphoon Burner, designed specifically for the diagnosis of the memory modules. The opponent in the testing is a set of memory DDR3-2133 GOODRAM LEDLIGHT GL2133D364L10A/16GDC with capacity 16 GB (2 x 8 GB). Both sets were tested in the following modes of operation:

Analysis of the graphs has showed that the change in the parameters of RAM is minimal, but still affects the performance of the proposed system. In the transition from the frequency 1600 to 2400 MHz the performance boost in games and normal applications was 2-5%. If we take into account the speed demanding memory modules, here is the increase of the speed of the order of 10-14%. In other words, the "heavier" application (CAD-systems, compilers, complex calculations in real time, modern games at maximum graphics settings), the greater the impact will be for the effective frequency of the memory subsystem.

This is particularly noticeable in the case of the synthetic benchmark test of AIDA64. Increasing the effective frequency of modules from 1600 to 2400 MHz leads to approximately 45% growth of copy/write/read speed.

As for the comparison DDR3-2400 HyperX Savage HX324C11SRK4/32 with the opponent, in most tests at the same frequency thet novelty has showed a little better. Also, you should remember that the nominal frequency of the tested memory module is above 2400 MHz vs. 2133 MHz.
