Packaging and content

The novelty comes in a rather large white box made of medium density fiberboard. It has a pleasant and quite informative design. On the front side of the package is the image of the smartphone with the model's name and trademark logo. In addition, attention is attracted by a reference to a two-year warranty, which is an additional advantage, which gives hope for the high quality of the device. On the reverse side is a full technical specification.

  • User's Guide;
  • warranty card;
  • charger 5 V, 1 A;
  • cable micro-USB↔USB;
  • headset.

Design and element layout

Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2

Generally speaking, the visually Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2 looks pretty nice, but with a slightly larger dimensions (143 x 72,6 x 8,8 mm) than models equipped with 5-inch display. The reason is quite broad frames that in the more expensive flagship models are thinner (for example LG G3). We have a regular rectangle with rounded ends and a few beveled edges. New product is available in two colors: black and white. Front side has no any logos (that is inherent to this manufacturer) and is covered by the protective glass. Additionally, there is a glued fairly high-quality protective film, which greatly simplifies the life of the future owners. Along the contour there is white matte border, which is slightly lifted above the display and partially protects it from minor mechanical damages. The thickness of the side frames from the screen edge to edge of the body is about 5 mm, and the upper and lower portions have a width of 17 mm and 14 mm, respectively.

The top side except the mesh of speaker has front camera and proximity and ambient light sensors. Below the display are three touch-sensitive buttons: "Menu", "Home" and "Back". They can be seen even in the standby mode, and upon awakening they are highlighted, which is useful when working in the dark. There is no ability to adjust or turn off the backlight.

Faces of the body are framed in plastic chrome trim. It's pretty slippery, so the probability of dropping smartphone in unforeseen situations is increased. On the right side is the volume rocker button "power/lock". Note not a very good location of the latter, which makes reaching out for it in the standard-grip (when the smartphone is in the right hand). They should be interchanged or spread on different sides. In addition, the buttons are quite slippery, thin and have a tight travel.

The upper face contains: interface micro-USB and universal audio jack (mini-jack 3,5 mm). At the bottom end you can find a hole of the main microphone.

The back side of Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2 has several beveled edges. It is made of white plastic, stylized leather cover. It is quite pleasant to the touch and does not collect fingerprints and scuffs. However, in contrast to the models of Samsung, the plastic (polycarbonate) without any softening of the coating. At the top there is main camera lens framed by a metal ring. Nearby is one section LED-flash (flashlight is absent). Below is a logo of «Fly». The lower right corner has a hole for the audio output from a multimedia speaker.

The back cover is separable. It is removed easily and without much effort, but at the same time kept securely through a series of catches. After removing the cover, you will have an access to two slots SIM (Mini- and Micro-SIM), jack microSD, as well as removable battery. Last holds the slots, so "hot" replacement is not available.

In general Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2 is built on a pretty decent level. The only nuance: the back cover is not enough tight to the body and there is a backlash. As a result, you can hear the creaking of when pressed. However, in this case, it is permissible, because the cost of a smartphone is quite low.

Overall, this unit has a classic look and a good ergonomics, which leaves a positive impression.

Display

Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2

Smartphone Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2 is equipped with a 5-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 854 x 480 (FWVGA). At the same density of pixels is 195 ppi. In close look you can find the individual pixels. However, it will not change performance of most everyday tasks. Complaints can only occur when displaying small fonts or paper applications that are designed for high resolution.

The display is protected by hardened glass with anti-reflective filter, but with the absence of oleophobic (grease repellent) coating. For additional protection there is a factory protective film. Fingerprints are collected both on the film and glass.

Traditionally for IPS-matrix it is characterized by wide viewing angles, high contrast and a nice color reproduction, although with some shift in cool shades. If we talk about the level of brightness, it is enough to read the information on a bright sunny day, although the image is noticeably fade. Minimum brightness is slightly higher than comfort level.

In any case, the brightness can be adjusted manually and can involve the automatic adjustment. Proximity sensor locks the screen for bringing of the smartphone near to your ear. Multi-touch technology can handle up to 2 simultaneous touches, and their treatment is at a mediocre level. So, if one touch is fine perceived, then in case of double-click some failures may appear.

Sound

Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2

As mentioned above, smartphone Fly IQ456 ERA Life 2 is equipped with only one multimedia speaker which is located at the bottom of rear housing part. Because of this the sound is muted when the gadget is on a horizontal surface.

Speaker is pretty good and loud enough. You won’t hear low frequencies, but the middle and high have nice detail on the entire range of sound. In general, it is enough opportunities for games, videos, and speakerphone.
